When you listen generously to people\, they can hear the truth in themselves\, often for the first time. And in the silence of listening\, you can know yourself in everyone. Eventually\, you may be able to hear\, in everyone and beyond everyone\, the unseen singing softly to itself and to you. \nRachel Naomi Remen\, MD \nBut listening is easier said than done. It is simpler to advise\, solve\, question\, sympathise or even dismiss. Why? Because that’s what we have learned from observation and the quality of listening we have experienced. Very few of us have seen models of true listening. \nIf you want to create an authentic connection\, listening is a reliable and powerful skill to master. For this event\, the theme rises from the sharings of earlier NOURISH++ participants who discovered that they are most drained by mental and emotional stress in their lives\, from work\, interpersonal relationships\, and themselves. \nIn our experience\, stress usually comes from conflict – with others\, self\, systems\, and more.
